34 & 35 weeks? :)
To my sweet Baby,
Again, this week's letter has been combined. I have to tell you, Little One, I am really quite unsure when you are coming & which doctor to listen to about your expected arrival time. :) All I know is that you are growing, kicking, rolling, movin' & a shakin'! Right now, what we can guess is that you are over 5lbs & near or over 20 inches long! You have been pumping up & filling out those precious little wrinkles of yours with sweet baby-fat so that you will say warm once you are out of this oven :)
Your Daddy & I, and many others, are praying for you. We are praying over many areas of your life & development, but especially over your little kidneys. I was unsure whether I wanted to tell you or not, Sweet Baby, but at your ultrasound a couple of weeks ago your left kidney was a bit swollen. The doctors didn't seem overly concerned & told us we would check out your kidneys in another ultrasound in a few more weeks. But, we are praying for you & your perfect health all the more. We are praying that through this & our delivery we will be able to share with the doctors & nurses how good & powerful God is! We love you so much Little One.
We love you Baby! This past week we were blessed with another Shower of love for you from our local South Asian church family here! It was a very sweet time as well! You are loved & prayed for in so many ways & by so many people! There was a very sweet time where our local pastor read & prayed Psalm 34 for us. It was so very sweet & I look forward to reading & teaching it to you one day!
Your Daddy & I love you!
Love Always,Your Momma

Words of Wisdom
Part of the time during our South Asian Baby Shower was spend with those in attendance sharing their words of wisdom for new mothers. Many of these are too good not to share :)
Don’t follow a philosophy that doesn’t fit our
personality. I was much happier when I
did things my way!
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Involve Brad in everything. Sleep when Baby sleeps. Play often.
Love when you don’t like. Be
encouraged.
Is.49:15-16
Children understand more than most adults realize.
Teach children principles by how you live rather than giving
them a list of rules.
Children imitate what you do more than they listen to what
you say.
Teach children how to make decisions & don’t just tell
them what to do.
Answer the question, “Why?”, even if you don’t think they
will understand.
If you have a fever after delivery take it seriously,
especially if you have had a c-section.
As we raise our baby grow only more & more in the
Father. That in loving our baby we will
see more how much God loves us. Continue
to make romance a priority & enjoy each other & our marriage.
“This too shall pass.”
Or “It came to pass.” This is
good to remember during difficult times.
Ask your self, will this matter in 1 year or when my baby is 10 years
old, or will this be remembered at all?
Learn to laugh at yourself.
Don’t we worries about things.
As the baby grows teach them to love the Lord most of all
& their neighbor as themselves.
Model this. They will learn to do
what you do.
Live life to the fullest with your baby!
Don’t forget to go on dates with the hubby J
This is the hardest most rewarding job ever. Your guideline is the Scriptures. Model that daily & you will do a great
job!
Prayers that God will give the grace & strength &
time to maintain a deep, strong relationship with Him. May God strengthen you with all his power
(Col 1)
As you baby grows find one special thing you can do together
& share your wisdom & insight.
Psalm 34:10
What a comfort to know that our children will lack nothing
if we are seeking & serving Him.
Sleep when baby sleeps, don’t clean.
Ignore stupid advice.
Have confidence in your own mothering abilities.
If you allow people to pinch cheeks when they are babies it
doesn’t bother them as much later on.
When people, here, take your baby don’t worry.
New Entry strategy:
take baby to meet new people.
Enjoy your baby.
Listen to baby’s cry & interpret. Bridge the communication gap.
Don’t use breastfeeding as a pacifier.
When baby is crying & you have done everything you can,
let it cry & then get Dad involved. You can go & he can sit in the room
with the crying baby.
Gripe water is good.
If the baby has gas, fold him in half.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
When your kids get older it is okay to say, “I don’t know.”
Get into the habit of apologizing, even to baby, when you
need to.
Model. It is not what
you say but what you do.
Feed baby a lot of candy, everybody will be happier for it.
Give him/her a name they can be proud of & confident
in. One that cane be pronounced easily.
Don’t compare. All
babies are different.

32 & 33 weeks
To my sweet baby,
This week's letter has been combine for several reasons... mainly in light of last week's doctor appointment & ultrasound. By our original calendar dates you & I would of been in our 32nd week together. But, by your measurements taken last Wednesday you were 34 weeks then! So really... we are unsure exactly of your coming date but still anxiously waiting for you! Last Wednesday you measured in almost every way, by weight & length, as a 34 week babe. Coming in at 5 lbs & nearly 20 inches long! But, we may just be big Americans having a big American baby, since your current weight & height are what most South Asian babies are born at!
Last week we went to the BigCity where we are planning to deliver & finally meet you in person! We spent the week there because our doctor appointment got moved, which we didn't know until we got to the hospital, and because your daddy went out of town to a conference for several days. We got to spend time with folks we don't get to see very often at all & celebrate another party, just for you, with our friends there! Babe, they are so happy for your daddy & I and so excited to meet you as well!!!
You are currently very busy most days. I believe I have you figured out in some ways, but as sure as I say this you will change your mind & habits completely! You like to face in, with your rump & back out, often leaving me rather lopsided! Also giving you better access to my internal organs :) I know you are just trying to get comfortable but sometime you can really get me good!
Your daddy & I love you so very much! I am thankful for each & every move you share with me :)
Grow well little one,
Love,
Your Mommy

The Coffee District
So last Friday we took a trip, only a couple hours drive, to the Coffee District to meet up with a new contact. This day did not go how we thought it would... in any way... starting with how this was one of the very first things I saw when we finally stopped driving!
Yeah... an ELEPHANT CAMP!
Where you can pay (of course) to hang out with, feed & even bathe the elephants...
since we didn't even know this place existed we were not prepared to do much of anything elephant related, especially since my own current size might surpass some of the smaller fellas :)
This places wasn't only an elephant camp, but a beautiful little river area complete with rafting!
So... don't worry you will be safe if you decide to take this adventure with us one day.
Now I should note, the "rafting" is in a raft but the river wasn't much deeper than a puddle or faster than a sleepily turtle :)
But it was an unexpected blessing to see!
Here is some more info for ya...
As our contact was delayed (by a funeral) we were told another man would meet us & we would have lunch with him. Well that kinda also happened... we got there and the new fella walked right up to us, we might still stand out a bit, and took us over to the restaurant on the riverside where he ordered & took care of lunch. Telling us it was on our contact we were waiting to meet! Wow! (there was even meat!)
So after a bit we leave towards our contact... we think.
As we are traveling along we are passing coffee estate after coffee estate.
It was the first time we had ever seen real live coffee in plant form!
Sine most all coffee here is shade grown they have to grow this certain type of tree to produce the desired shade, seen here. Baby trees who will have coffee growing under them one day.
Don't you want to brew some of that?
This is actually one of the final steps before the coffee get taken to the processing place. Here the coffee is basking in the sunlight working to dry out the fruits. Which, oddly enough, smells like hot peppers.
Long story shortened... after wondering around a coffee estate we are ready to make our leave. Since it is 3 1/2 hrs after we were to meet our contact.... and we were told repeatedly in true South Asian fashion, "He is coming..." we are finally told that he had arrived!
Did the meeting go as we thought.... not in any way. Turns out our new friend owns the coffee estate we were visiting, the rafting company, the restaurant we dined at, a small personal run hotel & a number of other things. He was in no way interested in talking about what we thought we were going to talk about but we now have a new friend... who is very well connected in the Coffee District!

31 weeks
Sweet BabyB,
Baby you are 18 inches long now & about half of your birth-weight! Yay for you! Believe me kid, I know you are 18 inches long now-a-days! Wow... I feel like no matter how I sit you are squished & trying your very best to reposition me so that you have more room! Since we are now going to the doctors more regularly all report are that you are doing well! Such a sweet blessing!
Lately your hiccups & moves have been getting more attention from your Daddy. Most of the time your hiccups are now belly-bouncers and your kicks, acrobatics, & tossings move all of my midsection! I have to admit, I do love it when your Daddy hugs me or we are close to each other & you get your move on! He smiles, but his eyes still get big as he ask me if I am okay. :)
This week has been somewhat normal for us. We have been in language class, out in our city some more, and we even took a trip to another district on the one year anniversary of our arrival in South Asia! You, my dear, are defiantly getting us more noticed now. We get stared at everywhere we go! It really feels like most folks have never seen a pregnant white woman before!
Less than 2 months sweet Baby & you will finally be in our arms! We are so very excited!!!
We love you so much!
Love,
Your Momma

30 weeks
Hello Sweet BabyB,
This week you are, by one source, 17 and 3/4 inches long & still around the 3 lb mark! You are practicing blinking & opening your eyes now, but I dare say it is rather dark in there. :) But, if we are to shine a flashlight on my belly you are able to see it & follow it now! Way to go!
This past week has been nice. It is always good to be back home after traveling a bit, you will see! Since we have been home we have attended your first party, via Skype! Skype is a fun way we are able to talk to & see our family & friends that live in other places. Just so you know, Nana & Grandpa/dad only appear on the computer screen, that is just where we get to see them right now! Anyhow, you & your sweet cousin Olivia were very blessed at a shower by our friends & family in KY thrown by my Aunt Shell. Everyone is so excited for both of you to come!
Then we celebrated New Years... welcome to 2013! This is your year sweet baby! Only a couple more months & you will finally be with us! We are so excited!!!
We are now back in language class. Sometimes it seems that really like to keep me distracted a bit, with your belly bouncing hiccups & kicks to my organs :) Honestly, sweet Baby I would not trade one minute of it! I love you so much & am thankful for every move & bounce, even the ones that kinda hurt.
We love you & are praying for you constantly!
We love you!!!
Your Momma
